I think spring might be coming. Maybe just maybe. I know we'll get warmer weather eventually, there hasn't been some colossal climate shift in these parts, it just seems that the snow will never go away.
it's been above zero for a few days now. Not a lot above, but above nonetheless. It's refreshing to think that warmer days might soon be here.
Damn clocks went ahead on the weekend. While I like the extra hour of daylight in the evening, it sure does screw with your internal body clock. Stayed up till after 10 last night thinking that would help. A-n-nnd my body still thought it was about 9 or so and not really ready for sleep. And when 5:45 rolled around this morning, my body still pretty much thought it was 4:45 am. Happy, happy joy joy.
Getting up at the crack of stupid isn't fun at the best of times, getting up when your body thinks its even earlier than it is can be traumatizing.
Just ask Miss K. She fell back asleep in about 2.2 seconds this morning when Big C went to wake her up for the day. Her little body was saying no way Jose, it is not time to rise and shine!
It will work itself out I know in a few days. Then we'll be equally screwed when we switch the clocks back in the fall.
It was a good weekend. We had an appointment with our financial advisor. Which doesn't sound like a whole lot of fun. However, we have hit it off with our financial guru and it turned into a dinner date as well.
A nice way to spend the afternoon and with people you are instantly comfortable with.
Do you have those people in your life? The ones that you maybe don't know them super well, or for not very long but there is a comfort there you cannot put your finger on?
You know that you don't have to entertain them. You know they'll just make themselves at home, they'll dig stuff out of your fridge or put stuff in your fridge.
Places where you can get other kids snacks out of their own kitchen and not feel out of place. Where you are just as at home sitting on the floor as your are on the good furniture in the living room.
No pretenses, no tension, no false facades, just very real and very homey.
Relaxing, almost like leaving your home and going to your home if you know what I mean.
It was a good visit and Miss K had fun with the twins, so much so that she was longing for a sleepover.
Pretty quiet otherwise for the weekend. Domestic duties for the most part. Boring really.
We took Miss K sledding on a bigger hill than last weekend. She couldn't get enough. The faster, the better. Kid has a need for speed. And the dog was pretty funny chasing after her too.
Big C not travelling for a while, though I think he's going to be bailing on a few too many swim lessons in the near future. Supposed to be quality time for him and Miss K, but I think he's going to miss a few. Oh well, c'est la vie…
Til next time…think spring, really really try to think warmth and no snow…please!?
